Nudes

Since my student days spent in the Life Rooms at the Slade School of Art in the mid 1970s I have continued to paint the nude human figure in an objective, abstracted way. I have been trying to simplify the figures and give them a scale and timeless presence. Most of the paintings have been done from drawings made directly from the model and some of them have a lifespan of 20 years or more as I keep returning to them and reworking in a stubborn determination to reach a moment of completion!
The paintings range in scale from small studies to large paintings of 6 feet.
