My Courses are planned to encourage people of all levels of
ability to achieve an understanding of drawing and
composition together with a confident use of colour. I
believe that individuals can gain from a willingness to
experiment with a broad range of artistic styles. The
benefits of teaching groups of 5/6 people from my studio
are the flexibility and personal attention that I can give
to the individual.
I have converted my workshop into a new studio display area
which can now be used as additional working space. This has
increased the usable studio area considerably and will give
people a better working environment when not able to work
outside.
Although each course is described as 'Landscape' this can
be interpreted loosely according to personal preferences,
enabling people to explore areas that will be helpful with
their own creativity. Reference will be made to a large
range of artists, based on the traditions of European
landscape painting. Courses are run from my studio, in the
garden overlooking panoramas of the Dauntsey Vale with a
wide variety of subjects to paint.
Pastels, watercolours, gouaches and oil paints will be
available for use together with paper, boards and brushes,
all of which are included in the cost of the course. A
sketching easel and a comfortable folding chair will be
useful for working outside but are not essential.
Painting days will start at 10.00am and finish at
approximately 4.00pm. Refreshments and simple lunches are
provided. Details of local accommodation can be supplied.
A £90 deposit is payable when booking with the balance
payable 30 days before the course. Every effort will be
made for deposits to be applied to other courses if there
is a need to cancel.
